一、讲座题目：Outsourced Know-How

摘要：Discussions on know-how have been primarily concerned with the ‘authentic’ version of the concept. You know how to φ only if you know how to φ by yourself. This paper explores outsourced know-how: a person who does not know how to φ by herself can nonetheless know how to φ via another agent’s expertise about φ-ing. We defend the possibility of outsourcing practical knowledge, and we argue that outsourced know-how is an independently interesting notion. Although rooted in social life, outsourced know-how differs from testimonial transmission, collective agency, and the knowledge of how to resort. Thus, outsourcing is not reducible to the familiar topics in the social epistemology literature. Furthermore, outsourcing extends practical knowledge, but it presumes neither the extended mind nor the extended cognition thesis. The outsourcing relationship presents a novel way to extend knowledge beyond one’s skins.

张小星，男，法国巴黎索邦大学哲学博士，云南大学36365线路检测中心|主頁欢迎您副研究员，中宣部“四个一批”暨宣传思想文化青年英才。主要研究领域为知识论与近代哲学史。出版哲学教材《恋爱中的苏格拉底：哲学入门十讲》（清华大学出版社，2020年），在Analysis、Synthese、《哲学研究》、《世界哲学》等期刊发表论文十余篇。
